Postdoctoral Research Associate (Astro-Theory)

Open Date: 09/12/2017

 Close Date: 12/01/2017

Description

The Fermilab Theoretical Astrophysics Group expects to have one postdoctoral position available beginning September 1, 2018: a 3-year Research Associate Fellowship. The group has a wide range of interests, including theory of the early universe, large-scale structure and evolution, dark matter and dark energy, high-energy particle astrophysics, and numerical cosmology. Our group is part of the Fermilab Center for Particle Astrophysics which, in addition to theory, encompasses Fermilab’s involvement in the Dark Energy Survey, the South Pole Telescope, the Large Synoptic Survey Telescope, the Dark Energy Spectroscopic Instrument, several dark matter detection experiments (CDMS, ADMX, LZ), and other projects. Group members can be involved in any of these efforts as well as the development of future projects. Our group also has strong connections to the Particle Theory Group at Fermilab and to the Kavli Institute for Cosmological Physics at the University of Chicago. Currently the group's staff members include Joshua Frieman, Nick Gnedin, Craig Hogan, Dan Hooper, Gordan Krnjaic, and Albert Stebbins.
