TENURE-TRACK ASSISTANT PROFESSOR IN EXPERIMENTAL PHYSICS

Applications are invited for an Assistant Professor (tenure-track) position in Physics to begin in August 2018. A Ph.D. in physics or a closely related field is required. A strong commitment to teaching at the undergraduate level is required. Applicants must have graduate coursework and research experience in experimental physics. Applicant must demonstrate the ability to develop a successful research program which involves undergraduate student research projects. Commitment and ability to work with a diverse student body is required. Prior teaching at the undergraduate level is desired. Evidence of the candidate’s ability to contribute to the development of upper-division laboratory experiments and upper-division general education courses are preferred. The ability to implement strategies that facilitate student access to and success in high demand introductory courses is also desired. Ours is a high-quality baccalaureate program located near downtown Sacramento, one of the most diverse and integrated cities in the country.
